Advanced AWACS

Boeing E-767 AWACS,JASDF,c.1990s,the world,s most advanced AWACS platform. the Japanese Air Self Defence Force had seen the need for a long-range and highly capable AWACS platform to monitor the country,s airspace,but by the time the National Diet finally approved funding appropriations,Boeing had already shut down and dismantled the E-3/707 production facilities for good,so the 767 airframe was used instead. the result was a very advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft,far cheaper and easier to operate and maintain than the USAF/NATO E-3 Sentry. {i heard that the USAF wanted to just kick themselves later on......}
