Chance Vought F-7U-1 Cutlass,US Navy Blue Angels display team,c.1952. 2 of these unusual and exotic aircraft{only 14 -1s built} were used by the Blue Angels during part of the 1952 show season,providing a startling shape contrast to the rest of the team,s more conventional straight-winged Grumman Panthers,flying both with the team diamond of 4 Panthers,and also performing their own solo act. this was the only time 2 different types of aircraft were featured performers by the Blue Angels in their history.

Sleek lines. Wasn't it one of those planes, though, that was let down a bit by its Westinghouse toasters - erm, engines?
